Dr Lim will speak on the pharmacological interventions available for slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease and new advances in the work, including:
- Current understanding of Physiological Mechanism in Dementia
- Overview of Medications Used for Dementia
- Neurobehavioral Symptom Control
- Complications & Side Effects
- Brief Look at Complementary/Alternative Medicine Therapeutic Options
SPEAKER’S PROFILE
Dr Lim Poh Hin holds a Bachelor of Science:
- In Applied Biological Sciences 1989 (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Massachusetts, USA)
- Doctor of Medicine 1995 (Columbia University, New York, USA)
- Completed Neurology Residency 1999 and Neuro Rehabilitation Clinical Fellowship 2001 (Washington University School of Medicine, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA)
- Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology (Adult Neurology) 2003 (USA)
- Listed in the American Board of Medical Specialties since 2003
- Lecturer in Department of Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia since 2003 & current Head of the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM.
