The brain consists of the left side and the right side. The left side emphasis on words, logic, numbers, mathematics and sequence while the right side emphasizes on rhyme, rhythm, music, pictures and imagination. For all this to happen the brain must be fed with the right nutrients. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, lean meat, unsaturated oils and nuts are brain builders while refined sugars, artificial coloring and alcohol are brain drainers. Starting the day with a hearty healthy breakfast will energy the brain to perform well. This level of glucose must be sustained by having a lunch and followed by dinner. The brain functioning depends on what you eat. This lecture will discuss consuming food as the brain medicine.

SYNOPSIS:

Care-giving is a large commitment that gets bigger over time. The person will eventually need round-the-clock care. Family members may have their own health issues, jobs, and responsibilities to other family members. It is essential to make sure that the needs of the Alzheimer’s patient are met, and that the caregiver has the support to meet those needs. As a caregiver, it's common to focus so much on the person in your care that you neglect to take care of yourself. However, taking care of yourself must become a priority, so that you can live healthily and happily and can give the best care to the person with Alzheimer's disease dementia. It is important to get help and support from other family members.
