SAT/27FEB16 ADFM MONTHLY CAREGIVERS' SHARING SESSION ON "HANDLING STRESSFUL BEHAVIOURS & DEMENTIA"

Dear All,

ADFM National Caregivers Support Network will be having its February Caregivers Sharing Session on “HANDLING STRESSFUL BEHAVIOURS AND DEMENTIA” which will be facilitated by Dr Esther Ebenezer, Consultant Psychogeriatrician from the Perak Royal College of Medicine.  She also operates a Memory Clinic at Ipoh Specialist Centre.  Dr Esther with her extensive experience in dementia care is the Chairman of the Perak Dementia Society which operates a day-care centre in Ipoh.

Time:  2.00pm to 4.30pmn (1.00pm - Registration of Attendance)

Venue:  ADFM PJ Day-Care Centre, No. 6 Lorong 11/8E, Section 11, 46200 Petaling Jaya

As this will be a hands-on sharing session, Dr Esther will begin with a little theory behind disturbed behaviours and followed by case management. Karen Hung, from Ipoh, will talk and share her personal experiences on how she takes care of her AD Mom and how to handle her own stressful behaviour.  The session will then open for discussions and more sharing of experiences from other caregivers.

“Dealing with The Elderly in Their Twilight Years” by Putri Juneita Johari, who is a caregiver and Columnist for “I, Caregiver” under the Sunday Life & Times Column of New Straits Times.

Putri Juneita Johari will share with us, based on her background and vast experience, as a caregiver for her physically and mentally disabled son, elderly parents, a demented aunty and a columnist who has written more than 300 articles on topics pertaining to caregiving in all its various aspects that covered so many facets of caregiving.
